Three weeks ago I posted on this blog a few prayer requests regarding our upcoming trip to Mexico. The second prayer request was, “Pray that we would find joyful Gospel-unity with the other team members from Hope Community Church (most of whom we have not yet met!)”
To be honest, I was a bit apprehensive about knowing almost no one on the trip. Of course, I had established a relationship with Pastor Aaron. But, aside from him, I really only knew one other person on the team. (And Taylor knew even less people than me!)
And yet, on this side of the trip I can not only say that I have finally “met” the rest of the team, but that I consider each and everyone of them dear brothers and sisters and precious co-laborers in the Gospel.
In light of that, I want to say thank you to the members of Hope Community Church who journeyed with Taylor and I on this trip to Ensenada.
Thank you for welcoming us both with open arms and open hearts. Thank you for not merely accepting us into your group, but for involving us in your lives. Thank you for going out of your way to verbally express to us throughout the week your joy that we came along with you for this trip. Thank you for working so hard all week and rarely complaining. Thank you for singing the praises of our God with a heartfelt passion during chapel services. Thank you for waking up early and making your heart glad in Jesus Christ through His Word and prayer. Thank you for not being cliquish. Thank you for being willing to engage one another in deep conversations. Thank you for your profound love and affection for the people of Ensenada. And, most of all, thank you for your evident love for our Savior Jesus Christ.
